Rabun
Dekle
Rabun Dekle first saw trapeze performed at The 40 Watt while at a Flash to Bang
Time show. She was smitten, but didn’t know how to find these crazy trapezests.
About a month after, she found a sign up table at a local farmer’s market
for Canopy Studio’s first ever set of classes. She signed up immediately
and began her obsession with dancing in the air. Rabun has served Canopy in multiple
capacities since she first signed up as a student, a performer, a teacher, and
a board member. She has trained at Canopy as well as Nimble Arts and works on
dance trapeze, circus trapeze, and aerial fabrics. She has continued her aerial
work through pregnancy and as a mother because she is entirely addicted to being
upside down.
In her other life, Rabun is a pharmacist at Village Drug Shop, a wife to husband
Drew, and a mother to her 2-year-old daughter Tyus. She enjoys reading, snow
skiing, hiking, traveling, a good game of gin rummy, and playing hide and seek.
She has an infamous vintage hat collection she dons for late night dancing and
resides in Athens at the pleasure of her 3 cats and 1 dog.
